I'm a bit confused atm. I got accepted to UIUC and I have already accepted their offer online. But is there some sort of deposit I have to pay to guarantee my spot??

(Like for RPI I have to pay 500 dollars)

I heard that there is a housing deposit, but can I pay the deposit after the 1st of June?

The thing is that I have gotten wait listed by 2 of the universities that I really want to attend. So if I get accepted by either of them(I'll find out the decision after May 15) I'll not attend UIUC. But say if i get rejected by both of the universities then I will attend UIUC.

No admission deposit. Only deposit is for housing ($150). You must pay that deposit when you apply for housing. For those who apply now for housing (and into early May) there will be lottery to doll out housing. Those who apply late, like in June, face getting nothing or, if anything, some temporary housing.

Private certified housing is separate from the dorm system and you deal directly with the applicable housing agent for the particular building and do not have to inform UIUC housing of doing so.

Transfer students should be informed of decisons either already or within the week as long as the applied on time (March 1).

Apply for housing by May 15 to meet first priority deadline for university housing and thus be part of the main lottery system which will most likely dole out all housing except temporary housing that may be available for those who apply later.

One thing with Private Certified Housing if you blow everything else. They generally have a wait list you can get on even late and during end of July or first half of August, they start calling those on wait list to see if thay want room and many on the wait list get offers – what happens is that they lose applicants who either choose (a) not to attend UIUC; (b) are upper classmen who decide to switch to off-site apartments, or (c) freshman who applied and were accepted but decide instead to go with residence halls (number of applicants often have preferred residence halls and apply to both UIUC housing and Private Certified and if they get their preferred residence hall they drop the private certified and those companies are required to return any deposit if the student opts for a UIUC residence hall).
