What should I do with my life?

I just finished up my sophomore year and I still am unsure of what I want to do as a career. I have taken classes I enjoy. I am currently double majoring in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Economics with a minor in statistics at Iowa State University. I also have taken computer sciences classes and I know Java and will be learning C++ next year. I have a 3.2 GPA and have had a few campus jobs, but no internships. I want a career that is challenging and involves complex problem solving. Maybe something that could lead to an MBA job type path?

I have two academic years and a summer left of college. Next summer I want to get an internship in my future career. The problem being, I do not know what my future career is! What jobs/companies should I be looking at? Also are there jobs, around campus, I can get this next year that will make me more competitive for these internships?

Hmm… only thing I can think of along the lines of complex problem solving are tech jobs, some sort of a research internship, and working in a hedge fund.

Although, I wouldn’t worry so much about getting a job in your future career. Plenty don’t pursue jobs related to their major, so what you do now won’t by any means cast in stone what you’ll be doing for the rest of your life.

Getting a research internship at your current school is probably the most approachable one, and is a good way to get good letters of recommendation from your professor.

I would say go for Computer Engineering or Computer Science - if you enjoy the C++ and Java, that is.
