I'm a high school senior, and I gave a mediocre performance for my freshman and sophomore years. In my junior year, though, I started an upward trend in my grades. I finally started getting A's in more subjects than just History! Now, late in the game, in my senior year, I'm getting straight A's. Finally.

Well, the final result is that I have an 86 average, calculated by my school to be a 3.25 GPA. I also have a 28 ACT (perfect score on the essay, but the Math KILLED me.) I took and received a 5 on the AP US History, and now I'm in AP Government & Politics (combined course for AP US Gov and AP Comparative Gov), AP English (combined for AP English Language and English Literature), and AP European History.

My stats kind of suck, but my admissions essays have been really good. I mean "really good" to the point where I've made people cry with one of them. With all things said and done, I applied Early Action to:

SUNY Binghamton
Fordham University (Lincoln Center)
Emerson College

Somehow or another, I actually got into Fordham and Emerson! I still have to hear back from Binghamton, though. But I recently realized something: Fordham and Emerson are awesome, but Binghamton has 4 years guaranteed housing and it's waaay cheaper, not to mention a good education in itself. I think I may really /want/ to go to Bing.

Do you think I have any chance? I mean, my stats were below the average to Fordham and Emerson, but somehow I got in to both of those places too. (I think the essay helped. A lot.) What should I do if I don't get into Binghamton? Should I just go to community college and try to transfer there (if not some even better school like UMich)? Or is it really worth it to go someplace as expensive as Fordham?
