What should I do??

Hello,
Hello Everyone,

I had an open book exam. We were allowed to bring all documents, books and other materials for the exam. No electronics were allowed. I started my exam and it was tough. I wasted half an hour out of two hours to figure out what to do. After that professor announced we have less time and I started writing whatever I could find from homework and ieee paper. I finish my exam. In the evening I got a mail from the professor about academic integrity. There was a girl beside me that copied my whole paper. During the initial hour I didnt hide my paper as I was focus to write something. I was hiding my paper after I finish second question out of third. The professor reported this matter and we are both getting F in the course. The girl has accepted the fact that she copied the exam from me and I was honestly solving my paper. I didn't helped her. But what are the chance that they will accept this fact. The girl is accepting the fact that she copied and I didn't showed to her. Should I accept the F in course because she copied exactly what I wrote even if she accept the fact she copied and I didn't show to her. What should I do???
Please help

No, you should appeal, show that all the work was yours (your notes, your books). If the school set up the test area where someone could easily copy, that’s their problem.

I was in a college econ class and about half way through an exam, I noticed that there person behind me was copying my answers (multichoice). I just kept doing my work. The professor didn’t have anyone watching the exam and it was pretty tight quarters. The joke was on the cheater, as I only got a B in the class and he certainly could have found an A student to copy from.

Find out if you need to go to the dept. chair or the dean. Explain what happened and include the name of the cheating girl. As the other respondent suggested, take your books and notes with you to show your preparation.
