Hey,folks!
This october I took the SAT and planned to apply in the EA period. However, the collegeboard informed me that my score was just 'suspiciously high' and after 45 days (!!!) they ultimately gave me reduced score of 1720.I'm so damn mad.Because I took about 36 full practice tests in test conditions,so I know my score range (it is around 2150-2190).And now the collegeboard has closed all the test centers in my country so I can retake the test only in January. So I miss all the priority deadlines. But my question is-how do you think I shoul prepare now?Because I'm literally out of study material, and, honestly speaking,I'm afraid that they will reduce my score again..

What the hell does that even mean? How does the collegeboard go about deciding whether a certain score is realistic for you? I think you should issue a complaint. I mean 36 practice tests! You must not let your effort be wasted just because the CB “decided” your score “looks” suspicious. That is, unless, there is a broader picture here you did not care to mention.

They said my score was,i quote ‘Suspiciously high’,so they took additional 45 days so I missed the Early Action deadline.Well,I guess they can do that, because I was given a score of 1720.My best suggestion is that they reduced it to the lowest acceptance score…but my CCC instructor is already writing a petition regarding this situation to ask them to rescore my test and prove that I really can score that high. The case is that I’m living in Russia, and some people suggested it could also happened because of politics. But I don’t want to believe this. However, the collegeboard did close all the testing centers,so I was not able to take the December test.I’m just completely devastated, because I have spent the whole summer 10 hours a day,and I couldn’t even sleep the last few weeks before the test just to fall under the CB suspicion of cheating,oh…

That is so wrong on their part. You must not accept this and make sure that petition gets sent!
What I still dont get is what basis they used to infer that your scores were faulty. Did they relate them with your grades?

No,the case is that it was my second try. And,as any teenager,I didn’t really care about the test and took it without any prep…my score was <1000 But it was the only fair,as i just wanted to get the experience of taking standartized test. However, this time i’ve put all my effort and dedication in the prep and they said ‘Its impossible to improve one’s score by +1000 points in just a year’ but, come on…

Thanks for your replies,by the way!Its so great to find someone who supports you =^^=

I am with you alright. I understand that you gave the first one on instinct, and even then that improvement is phenomenal! Way to go!

Plus, do include this in the petition : that the first attempt was you not even trying. Because this is what refutes their argument.

Yes,thats what my coordinator did.But thanks for such invaluable advice!
