What Should I Do?

Currently, I have a 1990 on my SATs…I am a rising senior planning on applying to SMU, TCU, Tulane, Emory, and UVA. I understand these schools are very difficult, yet I am applying to leadership programs there as well because I am very involved with leadership and volunteering if that will help my chances.

I think I want to try taking the ACTs once in the fall, but the October test date is the 24th and some applications are due November 1st…should I submit my current SAT score and just send my ACT score when it comes out? Or should I try to take the SATs again and up my score? I only took them twice and have never taken a class so I am not sure if it will go up considerably.

Thanks!

Maybe you could try to take the ACT in September by paying for the late fee? I wouldn’t know how much more expensive it is, but try to take a practice test to see if your score is high. But I think that you should definitely take the SAT again because you already scored high and you could do better.

I think I will either take the September 12 ACT or October 3rd SAT…between my first and second SAT my score only went up like 40 points so I am not sure if it will go up much if I take it again because I don’t take a class.
Also, someone said I might be better at the ACT because I am good at math and straightforward questions, but if I take the ACT I am only taking it once and that’s it so would it be more beneficial to take the SATs? Thanks!

I don’t know what to do, it’s important for my score to go up but will it even if I don’t take a class?

I prefer the math on the ACT than the SAT because it’s easier for me for some reason. Maybe you should try to take the ACT and not the SAT since your score only went up by 40 points. I don’t really think you need to take a class because there are some people that I know who just took practice test and scored like 32+. But if you want to take prep classes then go ahead.
