Okay so here is the deal. I have been going to school in Michigan and just finished my 3rd year. I absolutely hate it up there. I suffer from depression and being at the school i am at now really does not help. I feel more alone there and it takes a huge toll on me. I went down to the University of Houston and decided that I really enjoy the atmosphere there and wanted to go. However since its out of state I do need 3000 dollars more than i have in order to attend. I already got accepted, got my classes and housing. Move in is on the 20th and its gonna take me a couple of days to drive down to texas from michigan. My dad finally approved to cosign my private student loan yesterday and it said that he has to call monday to verify some information. Im really nervous because I have to start driving down to texas by tuesday the latest. Do you think that the loan will get to the school on time? i put my account on deferred payment so i wont have to pay until Oct so i can keep my enrollment until the loan goes through. and if the loan doesnt get approved do you think I should just take a semester off to try to go to texas winter semester and save as much money as i can. or should i just suck it up the best i can and continue my schooling in saginaw? i only have a year and a half left and all my credits transferred to texas. i really dont want to take time off of school in fear i wont go back but i mentally cant handle how horrible i feel being at the school im at and in michigan period. i feel like i am in a lose lose situation right now and its making me really sad and confuse. what do you guys think i should do?
“Do you think that the loan will get to the school on time?”
None of us can answer that question. You have to wait until Monday when the bank opens to find out about it.
When have spoken with the bankers, you will know whether or not you can start this fall.
But to be perfectly honest, you need to be thinking about how to deal with your depression, and get that sorted out. Moving to a new university in a new state might not change your depressive tendencies at all. Does that university have good resources for you so that you can receive help that you might need?
