Alright, I procrastinated with my application and I left one essay for the 1st. So when I finished it, I thought I was all set to send it in. I sent it late on the 1st, but when I checked it over, I sent the wrong essays. I sent the rough drafts of my 2 essays. Can I do anything to change this like submit my other ones? I know I didn’t have a great shot before, so with terrible essays its just a rejection waiting to happen.

Call em :-) Don't tell them you screwed up, just say you revised it a bit and would like the newer one to replace the old one. Don't do it NOW. Next week is a good idea.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the help but I think I really should submit my real version somehow. I submitted my very 1st draft and I made significant changes from that one. I just don't want to ruin my chances on something like this.

so stonedpandas, do you think it would be better to leave any minor errors because they will allow for a few or go ahead and send in a 'revised' copy?

You should e-mail your local admissions committee reader and tell them the situation. post your email here so we can correct or modify it if you want.

alright great, thanks. how could i change this? :

Dear Mr. DeMarco,

After careful review of my application, I realized that final drafts of my essays were uploaded rather than final copies. Though the changes between the two are quite minimal and should not affect the content of the essay, a final version would be more correct. Would you rather me send my final essay or keep what you have? Please let me know which you would prefer. Thanks so much and have a happy new year!

Best Regards,

bump...because i'm worried :)

"a final version would be more correct"

change it to "I would prefer the finalized version on file."

I must say, the whole "would you prefer the final one or the kept one.." if I was an admissions director, of course I would say I would keep the old one because i probably would not want to take the extra step to replace the old one. and plus, its late.

so if you want to get them to revise it, I would either suggest you send the essay along with your e-mail so that they may read that and have the good impression that you do really have a finalized version - or say something along the lines of, "if its not too much trouble, I would like to send you my 2nd essay .." that way, they CAN say no, we don't want it, but it would be easier to say sure, go ahead.

good luck!

thanks so much!
