I got a 70 second quarter in French, 90s in everything else. I was accepted early into Cornell engineering... how screwed am I? I don't remember doing THAT poorly (was expecting around ten points higher), so I'm going to talk to my teacher about it (not that I think anything will happen because of that, but it's worth a shot). And meanwhile, I've been trying to pull my grades up since about a month ago, but I'm afraid that won't show on the midyear report.

If you're in, then don't worry. Just make sure that all your grades don't drop below Bs or one grade below a C. You're not screwed though.

I think that you are fine...I would just try to keep all your grades passing with limited numbers of Bs and fewer Cs
I definitely do not think that they will rescind your app...at worst you might get a letter...but i wouldnt be concerned too much about it....

On the subject of Midyear reports....I managed an 80 in gym....strangely enough as usually it takes effort to drop below a 98...however I have the gym teacher that is retiring at the end of the year who is incredibly strict...

When does your school send out mid year reports? Does Cornell even want a midyear report? Many times for ED kids, only the end of the year transcript is sent with the year averages. You would have time to bring up those grades. Just a warning, Cornell pulls heavily from weight list and keeps it active right up to the end of summer. There may be kids waiting for your spot that kept up their grades senior year.

bump.............

It seems as though people have answered your question - what do you want to know?
