Hi all, I'm a senior this year who volunteered to interview prospective college conselours for my high school as one of our current counselors is moving away; however, I've recently learned that one of the canidates whom myself and about 4 other students will be interviewing is the regional admissions officer who accepted me to Stanford this past December. I know this may seem somewhat unusual to some, but I feel a bit uncomfortable with the notion of interviewing this person, esepically because I know he will recognize my name. I worry about saying something stupid or angering the man who esentially made the last three and a half years of grueling schoolwork worthwhile. Do you guys think this worry is irraltional? It's just that I can't decide if it's the right decision for me to back out or not. (there's enough other students to perform the interview if I choose to do so).

It's entirely appropriate for you to withdraw. You simply say that you happen to know one of the candidates and therefore you feel you might not be as impartial a judge as you would like to be.
