I'm going to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for Business Admin. There is no way for me to get into Investment Banking, Consulting or any big time money making jobs. So if Investment Banks look for people with experience, how the hell can I get into it with out going to a top 30 expensive ass private school?

Also, I'm thinking about specializing in Computer Management & Information Systems as a Business Admin major. Whats the job market out there for CMIS?

my guess is that you're gonna have to find a job after undergrad that would let you get enough experience to actually get an MBA from a top school, and then try to break into iBanking. That ore maybe if you can get a near perfect GPA, you could try to apply to places right after undergrad.

Tpeck, don't automatically assume that because you don't go to a top program, you can't get into ibanking. Yes, recruiters are by far the biggest prestige whores of any industry but I've seen it done.

I was at a recent Merrill recruitment thing here and all the associates got to introduce themselves and their backgrounds/educations, and while most went to elite schools, one notable guy did his undergrad at San Diego State and got his MBA from Wharton.

I wasn't able to ask him what he did between SDSU and Wharton, but he still managed to get into the BEST b-school from a solid (though not top 20) program and now ibanks.

I know a company that loves to deal with Business Students for internships.
Primerica Financial Services- They are a subsitiary of CITIGROUP. Citigroup is the largest commercial bank in the world. Primerica servvices Middle America, and they help people become debt free and financially independant. We also invest in mutual funds with our in house company Smith Barney.
If this interest you I can get a name of someone in that area who may be able to give you more info.
