I am a junior right now..
and the school i go to i have basically finished all my requirements to graduate, except for a english course that i would take online b/c i have taken the highest class there...

my question is would it be better for me to stay at the school my senior year and just take study periods basically the whole day....or to "homeschool" which would consist of taking community college courses, and a homeschool program?
i want to do the whole homeschooling thing, but my question is when i apply to colleges next year, would it hurt me to apply as a homeschooler?? even though techniqually the majority of my high school career is not?
some of the colleges i am looking at are barnard, uni of chicago, williams...

Well, most applicants to top schools generally fulfill their state mandated requirements for graduation very early as yourself. However, if your aim is to shoot for Barnard, UChgo, Wms, etc. you must ask yourself have YOU taken an extremely rigorous schedule? Did you ALREADY take the most difficult classes your school offers this year? If not, you will have a difficult road to being a viable candidate for those schools whether you stay in HS or homeschool.

If you think you and your family can devise a rigorous enough schedule for your 12th year in a homeschool setting and can document as such, then that is a possibility. It may not necessarily hurt you but why go through all that trouble if it's available through your HS?

Is it just so you don't have to darken the HS campus? How about extra curricular activities? Will you be shorting yourself there? Is there a reason why you don't want to finish your 12th year on campus?

Your situation isn't a dealbreaker but involves some complex issues that need to be investigated with your parents, especially in the context that you'll be wanting to apply to very competitive colleges and want to present as strong a file as possible later this year. There is a homeschool info on CC. Search for it.

yes, i have taken the most rigorous classes at my high school...there is nothing left for me to take there except extra classes ( art, choir, etc..)..that was part of the problem..
my school does not offer much extra curriculars as is, and most of the stuff i am invovled in i have started myself...
the only thing that slighlty concerned me were leadership positions, b/c i am a leader at my school and would continue being so next year...
however, if i did go the whole "homeschool" way, it would definetly be more rigorous than what i would have at my current school..
