Hey guys!

So ive taken the SAT a total of 3 times now; once my sophomore (last) year and twice this year. I am taking the ACT June 14 and I have no idea what to expect on the test. Ive heard that some people think that the math questions are easier but you have to be quick and time yourself well.

Also, how is the reading (critical reading?) section? How does it compare to the SAT?
And the science portion! Do i need to do any review of my 9th grade earth science information? :P

Thanks for your time!

Edit: Im also taking the essay section... Same rules with the SAT essay? Give examples, support, thesis, etc?

ACT is very different than the SAT. ACT is more of a test of applying basic skills and speed, while the SAT is more of a aptitude test. The ACT would be an easy test if there wasn’t such a hard time limit. Time is what kills you. Also at least guess on every question there are no penalties for incorrect answers like the SAT.
English : Focus on the most clear and concise answer.
Math : More straight-forward questions but harder content. Expect a lot of trig!
Reading : Basic reading comprehension
Science: This is NOT a test over what you learned. This is a test of the scientific method and how well you can interpret graphs.
Essay: If you write an SAT essay you should be fine.

Thanks a ton monkeygirl!

Trig actually constitutes like 4 questions on the math part, so don’t trip about it. You can still make a 32/33 w/o knowing any trig as long as you know geometry and algebra well.
