Lots of schools do not have “Pre-AP” courses. Ask others from your school who have participated in these classes and clubs.
Thanks, I´m gonna ask some people in junior year.
At my local high school, debate is a very serious club. I don’t know how it is at your school, but my friends who are in debate will often have to practice 1-2 hours a night.
And also just glancing at your Pre-AP courses, they seem like just a different name for Honors classes. I say this because there is no such thing as AP English I or AP Geometry. Again, depends on your school. In some cases, Honors classes differ from regular classes in pace, course material, testing material…It differs.
Thank you Bozusaki, I wanna join the Debate club because of the great opportunities of leadership and competitions I can be a part in. I googled the difference between Honors and PreAP classes and it says the´re the same thing, only the name changes, so I think I´m going to take those classes. Thanks again and do you think 4 clubs and 1 sport is too much?
Like I said, it kind of depends how intensive the clubs the are at your high school. When I was in middle school, the local high school’s NHS was very involved in the community. It was a big deal. I moved, and now my local high school’s NHS is significantly less busy. They usually just meet once a week, talk about classes, and plan a community program that they do once every semester. I don’t know anything about Health Occupations Students to America. Student Council, again, depends how involved it is.
It definitely sounds like you will be keeping yourself busy, but /how/ busy is just determined by the school. Like other posters have said, I would speak with your GC or your upperclassmen to see whether or not you’re biting off more than you can chew. We can only give our best guess.
Should I ask my 8th grade counselor since I´m in 8th grade and ask him if he can help me make a schdeule for next year or just wait until 9th grade and ask my highschool counselor?
You can talk to your 8th grade guidance counselor if you want to see if he knows anything, but obviously your high school counselor will know more.
