Your stats are looking good for UMich and Indiana. Emory is a high reach only because of your GPA. Even with IB classes, your GPA is pretty bad. Sorry but that’s the truth. Goodluck though.

Your gpa is low for umich…especially if ur oos.

Oh I know my gpa is low haha, I’d rather have the truth. I’m hoping for Kelley Direct Admit into Indiana think I’ll get it?

It’ll be a stretch, but hopefully your courseload can help more than your GPA. You’ll need the extracurriculars to carry your weight. I’m from Michigan, and know they LOVE out of state kids according to my friend (her dad’s a regent). Not my favorite school (Go Spartans!) but I wish you well since you’ll have a decent shot getting in. IU should be an automatic for you as well. If you could chance my UPenn thread that’s titled something like upenn Wharton undergrad chances that would be great!

Chance me?

GPA: 3.96/4 or 4.79/5
ACT: 36
SAT: 2360
SAT 2: 800 (Math, La, WH, Us History, 790 (Bio) 780 (Chem)

I live in CA from a middle income family. Applied for financial aid.

I’ve been accepted to UCR, UCI, George Mason, St. Johns, Hofstra, Northern Arizona, Nebraska-Wesleyan.

I applied to Emory, Columbia, Yale, Georgetown (legacy - my brother goes there), Harvard, Brown, Cornell (School of Ecology) Princeton, Johns Hopkins, Berkeley, UCLA, Rice, Rensselaer Polytechnic, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern, Barnard, NYU, UPenn, Vanderbilt, American, Bowdoin. Can you chance me for all these? Thanks.

Okay, so it’s gonna be a shot. Emory is looking near impossible at this point so I think I’ve given up on that. It’s annoying because my GPA is the absolute weakest part of my application. I’ve tried to cover it up by raising everything else. I’ll chance you back though bud.

The Kelley Direct Admit might be a reach, but who knows? Since everything else is good, you might have a chance. Keep your head up(:

ah i found out they have a cut off so nvm i should be fine. anybody else for UMich and Emory?

you should try to apply to shcools that dont count your freshman year if that year of your transcript drags you down.

jhu, umich, carnegic mellon, all UC schools, princeton, yale, and stanford exclude freshman year

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1465071-chance-me-colleges-ill-chance-back.html

chance? ^

yeah which is why i applied to UMich. So what do you think my chances of getting into UMich are? Without freshman year my GPA is about a 3.5 UW

Anybody else please?

I just realized that part of my original post didn’t make it (posting on a phone is a pain) and it was the nice part too  Although your GPA is a tad low for Michigan unweighted, some other factors are super important. Since your school is in the top 30 (kudos to you for that!) that will certainly help!! Does your school have a strong relationship with Michigan? And do you have a class rank? Because if your say, top 10 percent with a 3.5 etc, it says a lot about the school you go to (and your course rigor is really good  ) Buenas suerte!

Nah not really a strong relationship with Michigan. Uhm I’m 113/328 with a 3.35/4.42(6.0) which is done by weighted. I feel like that shows how strong the student body is.

You should probably get into UMich. emory is a slight reach due to your GPA. You will definitely get into Indiana University. The GPA and ACT score is hurting you right now. (A 30 is solid, but middle of the pack for UMich and Indiana U).

Your chances for Michigan are probably <10% because of your GPA, good luck!

Can someone chance me for umich?
GPA: my school has a weird half weight system. I believe its out of 4.3. Weighted I have a 4.1, unweighted more like a 3.9 (including freshman year, which was my worst year)
Upward trend for grades all through high school
SAT: 680 reading, 660 writing, 580 math
SAT II: 650 bio, 680 lit, 760 U.S History,
AP Tests: AP language (4), AP U.S History (4), AP Psychology, AP lit
My school doesn’t do honors or AP courses till junior and senior year. But junior year I took 4 of 6 classes weighted and senior year 3 of 6 classes weighted
Extracurriculars: 4 years Cross Country, 4 years Indoor and Outdoor track.Cross Country captain Varsity letters in all, Youth group member 3 years, volunteer at local elementary school, Prayer leader in service trip, NHS member and officer, Red Cross Club 4 years, Work 10 hours a week since this past summer at a local restaurant, In school tutor this year, and lots of community service for the Red Cross Club
Essays were pretty good
Recommendations I’m assuming to be strong as well
Location: Out of state
