What should I expect(please read and help me out)

I took my Junior PSAT and I recieved

Math 680
CR 690
Writing 560
so 1930 combined

I did not study at all and I guessed on about 1/5 of the Writing section out of boredum(not a smart choice I know)

I am taking the March SAT and I really want a 1450 or higher for m+cr and above a 2100 for combined

Im looking at maybe a 720/740/650 split

I have over 3 months to study

I already bought the Blue Collegeboard book
what else should I get? I am thinking Princeton review/barrons may help
I am also programming my ti-84 with some programs to help with math

How realistic is it for me to improve from a 1930 to a 2110
and a 1370 to a 1460

possible?
I didnt study at all for the psat and didnt even know I had it that day. LOL

what should I stufy from and what timeline should I spread out the prep books

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CANNOT TELL I AM VERY NERVOUS!
Thanks!

The Blue Book should be enough. Just go through all the tests and review. Get Direct Hits for vocab. You should be good to go.

If you are telling the truth about how you worked through the writing section (guessing on a fifth of the whole section… doesn’t sound very plausible to me but eh) then you should be just fine. Studying helped me out a lot (44 point increase on PSAT) so I wouldn’t see why it wouldn’t help you.

well when I say guessed I mean I really just looked over it for a second and picked which looked best

i literally mean about a second or so

I am confident I can raise my writing to a 650 with studying

but what about raising my 1370 to 1460
that is my biggest concern
is it possible to raise 90 points on (cr+m) if I did not study before

oh hell yes! I see you getting a 1500+/1600.
To improve a 680 => 800 for math should be a piece of cake.
To improve a 690 => 750+ for CR should be a piece of cake as well, for you at least.
I see you getting a 2200+
Good luck and study hard!

fresh101?

any reason for the sarcasm?

It sounds like he is being overly optimistic, not sarcastic.

And concerning your math/reading I don’t think you should be worried at all. Last year I scored a lot worse than you did on the PSAT (52cr/64m) and since sophomore year I studied like crazy and improved to a 70cr/79m, which are the scores you are looking for I presume. Getting a 750+ on the math isn’t difficult; it’s just about staying consistent throughout the test.

Im not being sarcastic…im being serious. I swear. It would not make any logical sense to be sarcastic in this context.

I see potential in you.
