I am applying to the business schools at upenn, cornell, georgetown, and nyu as well as Columbia College (just the college). Is there any chance I can get into one?? I think Stern might be a match/reach but i dont know if I have any chance at the other ones. Thanks for any comments.

I know acceptance to the ivies/gtown is probably wishful thinking, but will my sat ii scores stop me from getting into stern as well??

hey man; wow you seem like you have a pretty good trans. built up there. my best freind got into NYU Stern, and you seem like you would kick the crap outta him. I didn't like his essay topic, and i don't think any of his EC's were connected (kind of did everything and anything to build a trans). I think the one thing that reallly helped him out was the fact he was FBLA (Future Buisness Leaders of America) Chapter President and he's currently taking Hon. Buisness Management and Organization and Hon. Accounting his senior year instead of AP Classes. I don't see too many business credentials, but i think you have a pretttttty good chance even without them. hopefully, i'll see you there [NYU 2010].

Unfortunately my school offers 0 EC's for business, but you cant put something like that on your application. The only business related course i could take at my school (and did take) was economics, which is just a half year honors course.

I probably shouldve looked into something like FBLA or something along that line but I didnt even realize how big an effect it could have on my resume until my senior year. Whats done is done though, I got a good safety in the BC business school (accepted ea) if i get rejected from anywhere else.

I don't see why you can't. Scores are NOT everything, and you can still retest I believe if you want to.

Make yourself unique in your interview, EC's, and essays. I truly believe this is key because these define the person. SAT (****ty aptitude test) only says that you did well on a test that really is not difficult in content. The SAT, in my opinion, is junk because it is pointless to test on speed and not knowledge. The math section is only 10th grade math!!!? but a Calc BC student can't get an 800, whereas a precalc student can.

Anyways, go for it. Don't apply and you have 0% chance.

Unfortunately the B Schoola are super competitive. I'd say no chance Wharton and Stern will be a stretch for an Asian male with iffy scores and weak ECs.

I'm pin my hopes on Cornell. It's up and coming, has a lot of resources, and many fewer Asain male applicants from CT.

Georgetown wants three SAT II's... I'd say Wharton is slim to none. It's so hard to get in. I applied this year to Wharton and Georgetown with slightly better stats and I'm expecting to get rejected at Wharton unless they love my school and essays and me. Georgetown you have a chance, but the SAT II's are important there. They don't look at the writing. I got deferred there EA. Gtown is random (imho) and stat driven (60% valedictorians get in, etc) so you never know. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the input. BTW, i got deferred EA to Gtown as well but im pretty sure they dont reject anyone in EA.

I think i got a little to optimistic when i got accepted to Carrol at BC with 150 pts lower on the SAT I and only one SAT II which i scored a 610 on. Now i realize its probably cause they need more diversity.

Any other comments, im especially interested in opinions on my Stern chances.

brownies what was exactly ur stats that got you into BC? I'm applying and would like to know. As far as Stern...your scores are good...and Stern is mostly #'s driven as I got rejected because of low SAT scores, but excellent EC's. Your EC's are definitely weak...nothing that stands out. Your school doesn't need business EC's for you to participate...you should've made clubs on your own or did stuff outside of school..thats what I did. anyway GL
