I'm going to New York before I start my summer activities (check my location :)). What should I not miss in terms of...well, everything? Plays, shows, places...fill in the gaps in my head, and don't forget, COLLEGES!! :p

-Statue of Liberty
-Ellis Island
-Times Square--you'll get to see the naked Cowboy--seriously, this guy stands there in underwear, cowboy boots, and a guitar, and you can get your picture taken with him!
-Wall Street-You get to see lots of distinguished looking men in suits.

those were my favorite places!

But then, he's not a naked cowboy if he's wearing underwear, correct?

^^ Good point, but he is called "The Naked Cowboy," he's been on the news before...lol.

He's in that commercial - an obviously ineffective commercial because I can't remember what it's advertising - where someone's in a taxi and suddenly all these men start taking off their clothes and attacking the car.

Go see Legally Blonde on Broadway. Or Spring Awakening, depending on your mood.

NO!!
I AM NOT A SHOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And thanks :D

its for cars. ford, mebbe?
i cant rmr but i rmr all the men in their underwear stroking/dancing on the car

Place where Twin Towers used to be.
Empire State.

The ad is for the Chevy HHR.

I have no clue what to see in New York, because I haven't been there yet.

I live right across from NYC in NJ.

See:
Past location of Twin Towers
Empire State Building
Broadway
Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty
Guggenheim Museum
Museum of Natural Science/Art or w/e it is. been a long time for me.
Intrepid Museum(Military Museum is now closed since it is in repairs)
UN Building
Columbia Univ & NYU Campus
Wall Street
Central Park

MoMA (to add to Jimgotkp's extensive and good list)

The UN was a good one that I completely forgot. Odd.

you should go in august. when the yankees play the red sox. and the red sox does another sweep at yankees stadium in bronx :P

GO RED SOXS!

YANKEES STINK!

Rockefeller Center
St. Patrick's Cathedral
Museum Mile (5th Ave in the E. 70's)

I've been an international person in NYC =).

I ALSO GOT TO MEET THE NAKED COWBOY, and it was snowing like hell then, and he was wearing only underwear and boots. I lost the photos I took with him, though.

Anyway:
- Empire State
- Ground Zero
- Statue of Liberty
- The UN
- Wall Street? I saw the Bull
- TIMES SQUARE
- Madame Tussaud's
- Broadway

I didn't like the Guggenheim museum, I guess I'm not a modern art person.

OMG. best place of all is DYLAN'S CANDY BAR

lol, i'll check it out

Dylan's Candy Bar is on the same street as Serendipity 3 (60th and 2nd?), the coolest cafe/restaurant featured in many movies (including Serendipity). Put your name on the list and go to Dylan's Candy Bar. If Serendipity is too expensive for a meal, order specialty, frozen hot chocolate.

While at Columbia look at Barnard and Cathedral of St. John the Divine (which is, I believe, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world). It's right by Columbia; Barnard just across the street from Columbia.

Lets see. Coney Island, most definitely. Especially this year, since this is the last year that Astroland will be open before the corporations take over and knock it down. Bastards.
Greenwich Village is awesome. Check that out.
The Blue Man Group is downtown.
Strand Bookstore is the greatest bookstore ever. Thats in the teens and Broadway.
Go to Jamba Juice!
Don't recommend chain restaurants (i.e. Bubba Gump, Planet Hollywood, or anything remotely in Times Square). Instead, go to an authentic pizzaria, not that Sbarro's crap.
The NY Public Library is gorgeous. They have a Winnie the Pooh exhibit that I think is adorable. But, then again, of course I would appreciate it. I DO work at a library.

And...I think that's it for me.
OH! And look at Fordham Lincoln Center. That'll be my college, come September :)

oh i forgot your from boston. you shouldnt go to NY when they play each other. you might get jumped :x

nope, i'm not from boston-just rushing ahead :D
i'm gonna be in boston for 3/4 of my summer (and clearly I am looking forward to it :))
