What Should I include in my Honors Common App Section out of these awards?

Hey guys, the title is pretty self explanatory, but I was really just having a difficult time deciding which of my awards throughout high school I should include on my common app Honors section, since I feel like I should have variety in my awards, but also want them to stand out. But anyways, here are my options:

Model United Nations

  • Dartmouth University MUN: Honorable Delegate (5th) (International level, out of 90 people)
  • Berkley University MUN: Honorable Delegate (6th) (International level, out of 75ish teams of 2, so 150 people total)
  • Indiana University MUN: Outstanding Delegate (2nd) (National level, out of 80 people)

HOSA

  • Regionals: 3rd place sophomore year, 1st place junior year.
  • States: 2nd place sophomore year, 3rd place junior year.

Speech and Debate

  • 6 different placings of top 6 at regional high school tourneys (prob 25-50 people each)
  • Qualified for and placed 30th at states, but no recognition

Miscellaneous

  • Principals Award (school honor roll)
  • National Honors Society

Finally, there is 2 other things I’m not completely sure if they could be included in the Honors section or not. The first is getting accepted into UCSB’s Summer Research Academies with a scholarship (18.9% acceptance, 1,286 kids applied). I’m only asking about this one since I’ve heard people putting how they got accepted into RSI on Honors. The other one is during this summer program, I wrote a completed 10 page research paper, but it is completely unpublished as of right now, so would I get anything out of making this one of my Honors awards?

If you could, please rank what order you think I should put my top 5 awards as well. Thanks!

Any MUN, HOSA, and speech and debate awards could and possibly should go into your extracurricular descriptions. If I had to pick out of those for awards, I’d say MUN and HOSA are better. Honor Roll and NHS are both pretty common, but they definitely count as awards. You could probably put the UCSB thing into awards as well, especially if you put your MUN and HOSA accomplishments in the extracurricular section. Research paper…not so sure. What did you do it through…the UCSB summer academies? Independently with a professor? Are you currently trying to get it published in a peer-reviewed journal?

Hm, yea I’ve been talking to a few people on the A2C subreddit too and they’ve recommended similar things, except said to still put the qualifying for and placing above average in speech and debate states in the honors section, since it’s a big accomplishment. But I’m not sure since there was no recognition. Also yes, the research paper was done through UCSB summer research academies. I did it with 2 other peers and got help from professors in writing it. Currently, I doubt I will be able to be published in a peer-reviewed journal by January. Should I still include this?

P.S. - On the honors section, you can include multiple years for single awards, so for my HOSA states awards should I put a description like “HOSA States (2nd in 10th, 3rd in 11th)?” Or is there something wrong with that?
