What should I listen to?

That would be correct!

Well, Quasi what music genres are you interested in? Hard-rock or anything?

"how in the world do you POST A NEW THREAD??? IM NOT SEEING A BUTTON/LINK ANYWHERE to post a new thread!!! "

If you look at the top of the page and look below the blue bar where it says “FAQ.” There is a “post reply” button. When you are in a forum, not a thread, that option changes to “post thread.”

A lot of the older music has happy/cheerful songs. I listen to a lot of music from the 60s and 70s.

I dunno what genre I like! I mean, I’d listen to anything really, except for, well, death metal. (Sorry, lol). I mean, I’ve got stuff by Colbie Caillat on my iPod as well as stuff by LP. And Eminem. And Coldplay. And random dancey Bollywood songs. And the Beatles. And…yeah, I could go on.

But I don’t necessarily want happy LYRICS. Just the kind of songs that make you happy. Like Mika’s Happy Ending, for example.

This is getting complicated. Heh.

I would have to suggest 80s music then:>

Like what? I’ve never really heard any 80s music.

Go to itunes, then type in 80s music and you will get results. Michael Jackson is also good:)

I have been repeatedly told that I have weird taste in music (when I was little my parents always to play serious oldschool stuff, so it’s what I still listen to), but here are people I listen to:

I think they range from the 40s to 80s

The Temptations
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles
Billie Holiday
The Band
The Chambers Brothers
Michael Jackson
Earth Wind & Fire
Eddie Kendricks
Jimi Hendrix
The Gap Band

Strangely, Mika’s “Happy Ending” makes me sad. But he has got a new single out, “We Are Golden”, which might make you happy as well.

Of this list, the only person I’ve heard of is Michael Jackson. What type of music do these people play?
I’ve been looking for a new genre to try out.

It’s kind of a range: some are rock, some are “hippie”, some are soul, some are blues, some are jazz.

Oh cool, I’m going to go see if I can find some stuff on YouTube with any of their music.

go to last.fm itll track what music you listen to and recommend some bands/artists according to your taste.

Listen to Oasis. Not Wonderwall; its their worst song.

I agree, Mika and the Beatles are pretty upbeat. Vampire Weekend is cheerful and it’s good to listen to in the summer.

When it’s over- sugar ray
Use your love- the outfield

Couple forgotten songs That I rediscovered

be by common

Third Eye Blind. Their 2 biggest songs are so happy you’d never they were about smoking pot all day. Songs are Semi-Charmed Life and Blue :)

Ben E. King always gets me in a good mood… and I second/third the Beatles.

Muse and Chevelle make me happy, too, but I’m not sure it’d be described as uplifting. May I also suggest turning on your local pop radio station?
