what should i major in to become foreign exchange trader?

i can find little info on this career(besides Princetonreview.com but idk how reliable that website is) i know a international buisness degree would be a great option but fsu doesnt have one. would an ba in international affairs/relations or a ba in history be good options also. any info helpful but preferably someone with experience in this career

I worked for a proprietry trading company on the CBOE developing modeling software so while not a perfect fit for you I’ll say:

1) Get a math heavy finance background. A large majority of our traders were either quantitative finance majors or hard science guys with lots of math background. Reason - at some point you’ll be required to develop your own ideas and strategies. The old saying that Wall Street hires more Physics PhDs than all universities combined is still (more or less) true.

2) Traders, per se, tend to burn out and either leave the industry or move on to the other parts of the business (risk management, software development, etc.)

3) Whoever you go to work for will train you in their systems.

4) If you want to become a broker there are license requirements, but that’s something to plan for after you get in the door.

5) Your first couple years will be at surprisingly low pay.
