Hello, if you're not familiar with the prerequisites to become an FBI special agent, here's the link https://www.fbijobs.gov/111.asp Basically, you need to first qualify with either accounting, law, language, computer science, or diversified. Then after that you're hired by a list of critical skills. What is the best way to become and FBI special agent?

I will be fluent in french by the time I graduate high school although french is not a language they deem "critical" but I am also planning on learning another language they do call "critical" during college. However, I'm not sure whether to major in the language or minor in it. I was gonna minor in arabic to learn it, but then I saw that you get the "INTELLIGENCE" critical skill if you've majored in a foreign language. So now I'm not sure what to do. All I want is to learn Russian or Arabic by the time I graduate high school. However, I wanted to major in something like a science field, which is another critical skill. Or should I just major in Accounting, cause that's a critical skill? But that's boring. Please help me out.

Major in what you’re most interested in since that is what you will be doing for your life’s work. Being passionate about something also helps to get a job in the first place. The website is pretty self-explanatory about what they are looking for.

Don’t rule out the Defense Language Institute and joining a branch of the military. Absolutely the best way to learn a ‘critical’ language and get some experience as well as an Associate’s degree and money for the last two years of college:

You will also gain several security clearances along the way.

Agree with blprof, your link lays it all out, regarding majors and skills. The major you choose can determine the sort of FBI role you play. Obviously an accounting major will lead in different directions than, say, CS. So, what do you envision?

If you want to take Russian or Arabic studies to a high level, you need to find colleges that offer those classes beyond 2nd year and where you can hone the right skills- most veer into lit in upper level, IF they go that far. You would benefit from study abroad in, say, an Arabic speaking country.

But, you have plenty of time to decide. First find the colleges that offer the right array of classes and majors.
