So I want to go to UCLA, and I'm deciding between Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Problem is, I only got a 3 on the AP Test for Computer Science and I got a B in regular physics(everybody gets an A, i messed up hard). What do I do, which major would be better to major in considering the one I chose will be the one that is the easiest to get into given my statistics.

ummm… I dont really have an answer for you… but I was pretty sure AP Computer Sciences had alot to do with programming (in java no?)… If you like programming (you’ll get better over time) I’d definitely do it. Electrical Engineering is more like AC units and physical machines right? Those are two completely different things… and I think this decision should be based on what you like best, and not which one you think is a little easier. My uncle was a heart surgeon and almost completely flunked out of school, he was terrible at all the tests and what not but the man’s a genius and was a good doctor (and loved doing it) . I also know plenty of art teachers who love art, but arent the best at it. Sorry I didnt really answer your question… and I probably have the wrong idea about both of those majors.

bump who else, I just want to know what to do? Is a bad ap test score worse or better than a B in a class?

I’d say it’s much easier to mess up on the test. And a 3 is not a terrible score.

Not everyone who goes into Computer Science will have taken the AP Comp Sci test, not even the majority. A 3 shows an average amount of comprehension, and you might have had bad luck with what questions you got that day or on who read your free response anyways. You’re final grade will be a better indication of how well you comprehend the subject.

Electrical Engineering 10char

I would say you go for a Computer Science major.

Do what you love!!! :d

I’ve heard it’s easier to go from engineering to another major rather than the opposite, so maybe you could start out as a major in Electrical Engineering? That way, you can always change majors if you are miserable.

But, do what you enjoy more! :D
