what should i major in

Hi i am 17 and a senior in high school and its about that time to pick a college major and i used to know what i wanted to do and now i don’t i used to want to be a doctor but when i found out that it would take so many years out of my life and when i finally became a doctor i wouldn’t have time for life and and i gave up on that dream and wanted to become a actress or a model but most agency told me to come back when i was 18. now here i am i don’t know what i want to major in i think i am over thinking it i want a career where i would make a lot of money and have time for my life. i know in the long run of my life i want to open many businesses like a clothing line, a bisexual club {btw i do not have interest in the same sex} , hotels, restaurants, homeless shelters, animal shelters etc. but i know that would have to be after i have made money to open these things people tell me i should go for business management but also that i should go for marketing but i just want something that would be perfect for me and that will help me reach my goals also i want a career that after i finish college that i will have a good job right away. but i am good a things like presentations and be creative and working with other people and making good ideas. what should i do

I would say since you are interested in a wide variety of things, look into a major that could be a good base for all of these things. It sounds like going into Communications could be a good match for you. This would serve you well whether you end up becoming an actress/model or going into business.

I don’t think any major is “perfect” for anyone - there’s always going to be aspect that you don’t like, and there’s always going to be something from another major that you want. Basically, you just need to lay a foundation for yourself to build upon - and your major is not going to determine your career. You can open a club or run a clothing line with a major in sociology or history or math or anything, really. Your major doesn’t give you a great job right away - internships, skills, and good experiences do.

Marketing and business both sounds like they are suited to your interests; communications is also a good suggestion.
