I sent out my michigan application on November 3. Everything was received by admissions on November 22. Should I be receiving a decision soon? I am OOS with a 1210 composite SAT score (640 M, 570 V) with 3.7 UMich GPA in all honors/AP's? If I was underqualified would they have rejected me already? I still am not that confidant of me being accepted; but if I am indeed denied, Umich will want to review me with my midyear grades. My midyear grades, especially the 2nd quarter, are most likely going to hit a 3.9 UMich GPA in mostly all AP classes. Will I be deferred or rejected? If I am deferred, what will they be looking at? Is it too late to be deferred and I would just be rejected? It's mid January already.

Sorry for saying so much. What I am basically saying is that, if I am denied, what will UMich want for me to get accepted? Are they just going to look at my senior year grades? Most likely, they won't be able to see my 2nd quarter grades until they make a decision on me...so what happens?

At this point, I would submit mid year grades since they can only help. This way, if you are deferred you will be re-eavlautred with the updated info.

Your SAT isn't very high compared to OOS students applying. Sending in a mid-year report with grades, any recent accomplishments, and possibly an additional teacher rec would help. A re-take of the SAT or ACT could help, but it's almost too late and I wouldn't want to be taking a test at this part of the admissions process (you've probably already taken it a few times).
