What should I pursue after graduation?(If this is a right board...)

Well I'll try to keep everything short and sweet since I have the tendency to ramble. I am a senior quickly approaching a situation where I have to choose what I want to pursue after high school. For about a good 4 years, my ambitions were to go to a prestigious art college that is very well-known for it's successful students and become an production artist in the entertainment industry (which can expand into concept, storyboard, character, illustrative art, etc.) and hopefully become an Art Director for a studio or even for my own one day. I feel that I have a strong enough visual art foundation and potential to pursue the pathway and I've been told by many that have a natural talent (never have taken a real art classes until now; I'm in AP 2D Studio Art). But I've been drawing as a hobby for almost my whole life.

Family members and some of my teachers (and professors when I dual-enrolled) have said that I should pursue engineering as a career path. They say I have a strong understanding of science and math and should serious reconsider my post-secondary choices. I had done my research and I feel that the only branch of engineering I'm interested in is Biomedical Engineering (BME). I've considered going into BME and either double major (if possible) with a fine arts/illustration degree or even after graduating with a BME degree, taking individual courses and get admitted into a masters program at my desired art college (if fundings allow). So basically I would still have an arts education just incase I'm not happy with my BME career and what to pursue what I initially planned. Also, I'm a dancer and I would like to still pursue dancing on my past time. I've heard that engineering is a pretty time-constricting career. And I don't know if engineers ever have the opportunity to but I would love a traveling job.

I'm going to be honest. Being a Biomedical Engineer would be a career I would LOVE to pursue. I'm also drawn by the pay and guaranteed employment for engineers. I do adore science and math...but not as much as art though. And I wouldn't mind taking on a load of more Calculus and strenuous Biology and Chemistry classes. So that's what makes this whole situation difficult.

But I'll apologize in advance because I don't really want to release my accurate academic records and test scores, I want to avoid people judging me instead of being support for my situation. My academic record is above average as it is filled with AP and Dual Enrollment courses spanning from freshman to my current year. My ACT is in the 30s and SAT (no subject tests) are in the 1900s and I have over 100 community hours. I am National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society member. I also do about 5 clubs other clubs, so I get around a lot.

If I choose BME, I need to look for some prospective colleges and apply for them and take SAT Subject Tests. If I pursue art, I can just continue what I'm doing since I've already been accepted by the art college I want to go to. I just need to continue my scholarship apps and keep building my portfolio.

What do you guys think I should pursue? Or at least, what advice could you give me on deciding on a decision?
