What should I put on the 'Honors' Section of my CommonApp?

I'm unsure of what I should enter into this section of the commonapp. Here are some of the awards that I'm thinking of listing. Please tell me if they are appropriate for the honors portion of my application:

National AP Scholar Award: I've taken 10 AP Exams so far (8 as a Junior, 2 as a Sophomore) and have scored 5's on all of them except for NSL (on which I got a 4). I believe this award comes out in September, but I'm not sure.

National Merit Semifinalist: I scored a 232 on the PSAT last year as a junior. I live in Maryland, which usually has an NMS cutoff of around 221 each year. I'm pretty confident that I've qualified as a National Merit Semifinalist, but again, I won't get any physical award until September.

Physics Olympiad Semifinalist 2011

Member of my School's AP Division Physics Bowl Team (we won 1st in my region)

National Honors Society: Member of the national honors society (joined last year).

Math Honors Society (Mu Alpha Theta): Member of my school's math honors society for two years.

From what other people on CC have posted, I'm pretty sure that the first two awards listed above should be placed on the honors sections of my app. I've rather tentative about the other things however. What else should I put on my commonapp?

Physics Olympiad Semifinalist is better suited for a resume or the activities section, as is your Physics Bowl Team.

NHS should be listed in the activities section. You can list it as an honor, but only if you have an extra space and nothing else to put in it.

NMSF and National AP Scholar should definitely be listed in your honors section, as should Math Honors Society.

Thanks for your input RedSeven. BTW, do you think that MHS is more prestigious than NHS?

I’d love to hear some other opinions on this since my son also has similar awards (physics olympiad semi-finalist in 10th and 11th and his physics bowl team was 2nd in the nation this year) but so far, he listed them in academic honors. I guess they are ECs but they are academically based. Hmm, maybe you’re right, RedSeven…
