What should I read to improve Reading?

Any suggestions on free, online websites with articles that I could read to improve my ACT/SAT reading scores?
I got a 33 on ACT reading, and I want a 36.
And as for the SAT.. well, I only got a 690.

Any suggestions are welcome and very much appreciated!
Thanks!

Anybody who has 32+ is capable of getting 35/36.

When you do the CR practice sections…do you go over why you got certain questions wrong?

Do you mark your “guessed” answers and then check to see why a “right guessed answer” was right and why the other possible answer was wrong?

In the SAT or ACT practice books, did you read thru the areas in the front of the books that give tips on CR?

Where are you applying?

What was your ACT composite?

What was your Math SAT score?

Are you trying to raise scores for acceptance and/or for merit scholarship consideration?

I read the NYTimes + The Economist to raise my score.
690 -> 750

But don’t forget to practice too.

It’s more efficient to just drill practice CR sections from Princeton or Blue Book than to try reading other material to increase your score. Look online or through practice books for strategies that may help you improve (there are dozens) and use the ones that work for you. Learn from your mistakes. Go over the ones you got wrong and figure out why the correct answer was correct and why your answer doesn’t work. My original CR score was exactly the same as yours and went up drastically through practice.

Webass, that’s encouraging :D

mom2, I’ve heard that that’s the best way to study for these tests, so that’s probably what I will do for this month’s ACT and January’s SAT.

user, I will definitely try those!

Wedge, All right. When I studied for the last tests I only briefly went over what I missed. I never really “studied” them. I know differently now, so yay!

Vic, yup. My dad has suggested that reading classics will help my reading.
I might try some of those GRE practice tests though.

Thanks all! Much appreciated!
