It's been two long years since I've taken any math. I'm going to take pre-calculus next fall at my CC. My current summer schedule is not too intense so I'm planning to review before fall semester rolls around.

Any ideas on what I should go over?

functions graphing, trig identities, polar coordinates, conic, series

Do you need to know geometry in precalc? My college requires a “college geometry” class in addition to trig as precalc prereqs.

What’s this got to do with UC transfers lol.

^ pre-cal is UC transferable, and if you didn’t test into calculus and are a science or math major you would need to take it.

As for prep, just practice your algebra. Pre-calc (or at my school College Algebra + Trig) is just a little more advanced algebra with some trig. I took pre-calc a year ago and it was my first algebraic math class in 3 years and it wasn’t bad at all (I got an A), all the stuff you’ve learned before comes back pretty quick.

Thanks for the advice, UCeric2010. I found some of my old algebra review books and I’m going to start looking over them.

Im in the same situation except im taking it during summer. Have to start in 2 weeks and Im freaked out. I took Trig in spring and struggled to piece together some decent algebra skills to pass. Hopefully things get easier since its a summer class for me. But id recommend just that… reviewing algebra I and II since Precalc is basically algebra 3

peterr86 said “functions graphing, trig identities, polar coordinates, conic, series”

Do that. I’d say trig is one of the most important things you will need to know for pre-calc through calc 3. Graphing is also huge in pre-calc.
