The main reason I am appealing is because I applied as a Mechanical Engineering major to all the UC's, unaware that impacted majors had an effect on decisions..not a lot..but somewhat. I know..I'm an idiot for not knowing.

Most of my second choices were impacted as well.

If I say in a way..that doesn't sound like an excuse or that I am admitting to a mistake, but simply that because of certain circumstances (which I will specify), I wish to study another major (I'll probably put down Anthropology in the College of Letters and Sciences - non-impacted) because I do have an interest in this.

To be honest, I was /highly/ encouraged to study mechanical eng., and I thought it would be good, but in my heart, I didn't really want to do it, as I dont know much to anything about it.

Do you think this, along with other hardships I left out in the UC app will give me a chance...even a SMALL chance to be accepted?

Also, I didn't include that both my parents are UC alumnis...should I add this..

thanks
