What should I take? AP Calc AB or AP Calc BC?

How hard is BC compared to AB? I have an A in AP AB right now but I don't know if I can do well in BC. Are the material much more dense or what?

BC doesn't cover much more than AB. If I recall correctly, the only differences are that BC covers parametric and polar functions, a couple more methods of integration, and infinite series.

If you have an A in AB, you should have no problem with BC. I'm taking BC right now, having taken pre-calc last year, and it's not hard at all.

I know for sure that I will get an A if I stay in BC. But I would be the only one with an A that will stay in AB if I do stay in AB. The teacher who is teaching BC is a much harder grader and I don't know if I will be able to get an A in that class.

Is an A in AP Calc AB better or B in AP Calc BC?

So BC is easier than AB?

I honestly don't know, I don't think it'd make much of a difference, but it probably will with the AP Exam, since you only get a semester of credit for passing AB, as opposed to a year's worth if you pass BC. And BC isn't easier than AB...BC covers everything that AB does, except it adds some additional topics

can you self-study BC?

I wish I had the opprotunity to take AP Calc BC, but I would say BC isn't too difficult. Of course this is from what I've read about it on CC.

What? You only get a semester of AP credit for AB?

And would an A in AB look better or worse than B in BC in terms of college admissions?

<a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/calculus_bc/topic.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/calculus_bc/topic.html</a></p>

There's the link for the BC outline.

As for the A in AB or B in BC, again, I don't think there would be a much of difference in college admissions, especially if you're a senior. If you're a junior or below, then they'd have your AP grade to judge by. And yeah, getting a 3 or higher on the AB exam only gives you a semester of college credit, as opposed to a year's worth for passing the BC exam.

Thanks.

I am a junior and I think class grades matter more than AP scores. So would colleges not weigh AB class as an AP class if I continue with it in second semester?

No, they would, you'd get a full year's worth of weighted GPA credit.

If you're having no problem whatsoever in AB, go ahead and transfer to BC. It's really not much harder, if at all.
