What should I take in History

Hello, my name is Corey and I’m currently an freshmen in high school. I am now taking World History and it’s not really about the world history it’s mostly about European History. Ever since I got interested in World History, I wanted to learn more about the European History. Should I take AP European class?

if you are planning to take the class because of its prestige and you are not genuinely interested in the class, don’t take it.
ap euro is taken mostly by sophomores and it is a hell of a class for most of them as they are not ready for ap.
at my school, usually there are 25 students in the class and by the end of the year the class has about 10 students.

if you are interested in it, take it by all means.

Hi Corey!!! Euro will probably be hard, but it’s good to try an AP or two before junior year, especially if it’s something you like. Not sure if taking it for “prestige” is the right word, but I disagree. It’s totally fine to take something just because it’s an AP if it’s something you’re interested in.

If you want to learn more about European history then go for it. I took AP euro as a freshman and it wasn’t THAT bad (got a 4 on the exam) and history isn’t even my strong subject.

Sure. There’s a lot of homework and notes and studying required, so if you think you’re ready for that kind of commitment and are genuinely interested in the course, take it.

Since you’re interested in European history, it makes perfect sense for you to take AP Euro, but before you make any decision, talk to your current teacher and ask whether, based on your current skills and content mastery, you’d be likely to get a B or higher in AP Euro.
