I am currently a freshman in high school and have to fill out my schedule for next year. At my school I need a two year language requirement, which I already completed, but my dad still wants me to take a third year of language. He also wants me to take AP History next year. This year instead of taking a regular history class I took one online before school, which opened up another hour in my schedule so I would be able to met my language requirement and still be able to take all the introductory art classes my school offers. I was going to do the same thing next year so I can go into AP Art for both my junior and senior years.
I'm wondering what I should do. I want to go to Pratt for 2D Animation and Drawing. Currently my GPA is 3.9 and I am in Honors English and am one year ahead in math and am going into Honors Accelerated Math Lab (2 years of math in 3 years) if that helps too. Also any suggested classes or programs would be nice.

Pratt looks at both academics (GPA and Course Rigor) and artistic talent, so I’d try to take as much art as possible. They are definitely serious about reviewing the required portfolio, so taking the AP Art courses will help provide some pieces to include, but you can include your own pieces developed over the summer or whenever you have the time. Remember that your first year at least will consist of Art Foundation studio classes that provide the basic background needed to progress in the details of your chosen field of study. They aren’t interested in exposure to particular computer programs that you may have been exposed to, they’re looking for your talent and passion for art.
