<p>I don’t think digital 3D modeling/animation may be what this student is looking for specifically since he/she speaks specifically of using concrete materials like wood and plastic.</p>
<p>The student may be most interested in architecture, industrial design, jewelry design, production design, and/or furniture design.</p>
<p>My advice would be to find a school that offers the diversity of majors you are interested. Since you typically would not have to decide upon a major until Spring of your freshman year, you could survey the lay of the land to help you decide.</p>
<p>Be sure to check out SCAD. They offer degrees in all of the above majors.</p>
