What should my reach schools be?

<p>I am applying to be a History, Philosophy, Political Science, or English major. I will choose whatever I feel is the best program at that given school. I want to go to law school after undergrad. I have a 1910 SAT, and a 28 ACT. I took it again last Saturday and am hoping I got a 30 or 31. 5.1 weighted GPA (my school does weird weighting) I think it's a or 3.7 or 3.8 unweighted, don't know for sure. I'm white.
My school stopped reporting rankings but last year my rank was 68/603 (about top 11%)
By the end of the year ill have taken 10 AP classes, the rest are pre-ap which is basically honors at my school. (We don't have "honors" only regular, pre ap and AP)
I have strong extracurriculars including Eagle Scout, starting my own functioning business through a year long Entrepreneur academy, Debate team captain (and I went to State), NHS, German Club & German Honor Society, and a few smaller academic awards. I have had some leadership positions and 100+ volunteer hours. I'm also involved with Youth Group.
I have applied to UT Austin, Florida, Alabama, SMU, Baylor, and UC Santa Barbara & San Diego. I was accepted to Baylor and Alabama but have not heard from the others. I am middle class with about $130k income.
I am looking to apply to one liberal arts college and two reach schools. What reach schools are possible for someone with stats like mine, and where do you recommend I apply?
Thanks for your help!</p>

<p>Emory and Tulane are reaches but possibilities. Colby would be an LAC reach. Muhlenberg is a bit more of a match.</p>

<p>Occidental is low-reach/high-match; Willamette is a match. If your scores don’t go up, you could aim at one of the more elite test-optional schools, but you should move rapidly, since they often have required supplements to submit. If you’re willing to consider a small, quirky college, look at Goucher, Hampshire, or New College of Florida.</p>

<p>Thanks for the suggestions so far! @woogzmama‌ what are some elite test optional schools that you think I would have a shot at (still reach schools but possible) that are decent picks for undergrads interested in law?</p>

<p>Bump</p>

<p>Bates, Dickinson, Hobart, Middlebury . . . <a href=“ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest”>http://fairtest.org/university/optional&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>If I showed interest to the LACs like Colby, Bates, Middlebury, etc. like visiting and doing interviews would I be a decent candidate with my stats? And do they provide good aid for middle class students? </p>

<p>Run the online net price calculator for each of them (and for any other school that interests you).</p>

<p>I ran College Abacus on several schools cited above. </p>

<p>Assumptions
$130K income, split evenly between 2 parents
1 child (the applicant) with no income or savings
$65K in checking/savings
$130K in assets</p>

<p>Net Price Estimates
$52830 SMU
$50358 UT Austin (out of state)
$35954 Dickinson
$34183 Middlebury
$26314 UT Austin (in state)
$24671 Bates </p>

<p>YMMV. </p>

<p>Thank you! @tk21769‌ I was planning on running some later as well. Bates will give me that much money? That’s a lot more than I thought they would give me. That actually makes bates much more affordable than I thought and puts it much higher on my list. And yes I am an in state texas resident so the second one would apply to me. An it also moves SMU down even though that college is about 25 minutes away from me… Super expensive :(</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>Maybe.
It’s important to run your own NPC estimates with information that accurately describes your own family’s financial circumstances. </p>
