@3rdplanet - i’m going to be a freshman and don’t have work study either so thanks for the examples! but i looked up f4ed and it looks like they only have volunteer positions?
also, do you know how to get a job as a tour guide? haven’t seen anything about that. thanks!

still haven’t received anything…

i sent mine on saturday and still havnt gotten anything

F4Ed hires through on campus recruiting. They usually go to house meetings and stuff like that. Last year the applications were passed around the email chat lists. Pays pretty well, I heard.

The tour guide job is freakin cool. It’s also highly competitive. They hire later in the year, watch for info sessions and applications in winter quarter. It’s pretty much a selection of some of the coolest people at Stanford, in my opinion. Definitely apply! You’ll meet a bunch of incredible students, and also what’s better than getting paid to talk all day to prospective students (and their families) and tourists about everything you love about Stanford? Ok so I’m rambling, but here’s another thing I want to add. Whenever you’re feeling down for whatever reason, after you lead a tour you will feel so much better because you will remember how incredible the school is and also, how many people would love to be where you are right now. Sorry, so much info, I just love tour guides.
