What size TV to bring?

Currently I'm in the process of choosing an lcd tv to bring to college this fall, I am wanting to get a 32" lcd, but I was wondering if such a tv would fit on the desks [between the bunks] vertically. Additionally, what size tvs do most people bring. And if I brought such a tv, what are the chances that it would be stolen. Thanks.

Wait to bring a TV like that. Save your money, prices will fall. Get a feel for GT and the environment.

A 22 inch works just fine considering the space of the rooms, but it never hurts to go larger. (although anything greater than 35 might be pushing it if you plan to put it on your dresser)

I think many college students find that there’s little use for a TV. You may wanna hold off bringing one. There’s usually one in the common area anyway.

I think it really depends on whether you’re addicted to a TV show or not (House, The Office, Heroes, Fringe, etc.) and that’s when it comes in handy. Plus there is hbo, hbo2, ifc, usa, fox, and military channel for when you’re bored. Most freshman I knew on my floor last year also had a tv.

If you’re a social butterfly and are never in your room then by all means avoid getting one. Otherwise it is kind of nice to have.

Do they have HD on the GT Cable Network now? I don’t know if I could survive without sports in HD

Go for the 32"…its worth it. Even if you do party and study a lot, there’s still a bunch of time for TV, trust me (especially with the movie channels Tech has in the dorms). A 32" fits fine in the dorm rooms and they’re pretty cheap (under $500)

I found that a lot of students at gatech don’t have t.v’s in their rooms

Great advice coming from someone who’s not even at Tech yet >.>

If you want one, bring one.

it wasn’t advice…I did not state that he should or should not bring a T.V…just a statement!!! smart a**

That stuff isn’t on the internet yet? Between Hulu and abc.com (or similar) I get my fix of every TV show I like without having to have a TV.

The internet method might work for you, but you forgot about the preferences of the other 6 billion people on the planet, minus the ones living in jungles. TVs have not become obsolete last time I checked.

And no, flight of the conchords is not on the internet.

If you weren’t giving advice then your statement is irrelevant to the poster’s question and deserved the same response.

lol…how old are you? I’m glad you find time in replying to my posts that weren’t directed to you in the beginning…Have a nice life Rude a**…It’s amazing how rude people are these days…Thanks!!!You were my burst of excitement today

Maybe you should get outside more…also try to not give advice of things you don’t know. Thanks! Hugs and kisses :)

see ya this fall Darko21 :D

Let’s hope not :)

TBS starts early, doesn’t it?

I think it’s contagious…
