This song has been in my head for a week now, but I can only recall about 5 words in the lyrics. Does someone recognize it? It's an old song...maybe 1-3 years ago. I'm pretty sure it's a guy singing it and it's like Justin Timberlake kind of song and not like Akon or Usher-type. It goes something like this:

....this empty house
That don't make it(me) da...
dada da...dada da...

The "da"'s are replacing a word/syllable that I don't remmeber.

Head over to YouTube and listen to songwriter Jeffrey Steele’s “What Hurts the Most” (which opens with, “I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house - That don’t bother me - I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out….”). The song was a 2006 country/adult contemporary crossover hit single for U.S. country group Rascal Flatts (included on album Me and My Gang), as well as a 2007 worldwide hit single for German Eurodance group Cascada (included on album Perfect Day). Both versions have that Timberlake-ish sound, but Cascada’s version (sung by Natalie Horler) is uptempo, with a clubby beat.

There’s also a song entitled “This Empty House,” performed by U.S. alternative rock group The Color Fred (included on 2007 album Bend to Break). I listened to that song on YouTube, as well, and it doesn’t sound like the song you describe. However, I could be wrong, so take a listen to that one, too.
