<p>asaunmom, My SIL and BIL live in suburban Indianapolis. They have FIVE kids, all boys. #1 went to Johns Hopkins, then to Rice for grad school (hated it), now back at johns Hopkins. #2 was accepted at Cornell but thought the buildings were “too old” (LOL!), so he’s at Purdue. #3 is a freshman at Tulane. The other two are still in high school (youngest is 13).</p>

<p>Maybe I can convince the two younger to consider Alabama on merit scholarship. The family’s well off, but by #5, even the well-heeled begin to feel the pinch. :)</p>

<p>I had to touch base because I grew up in Rockville, but now am a transplant in St. Louis. I graduated from Robert E. Peary High School – the last graduating class before they closed. Good luck to your son! My daughter was just accepted to Alabama and is planning on attending on the OOS Presidential Scholarship – of course we still have to visit the campus. The scholarships are fantastic though and hard to pass up. Take care, Susan</p>

<p>set up a campus tour time online…try for the early morning one.

<p>send an email to Allison Verhine in the Honors College </p>

<p>In the email, include:</p>

<p>tour time and date
student name & contact info
test scores and GPA
(if a likely NMF, indicate so)
intended major
professional interests (pre-med, pre-law, pre-dental, etc)
interest in Computer Based Honors program and/or University Fellows Program (if desired)
Also, include any thing else that interests you about the school…such as touring the new Science and Engineering Complex and Shelby Hall. </p>

<p>Allison will arrange the rest of the day…meeting with dept heads, honors faculty, touring honors dorms, etc.</p>
