If you are currently waitlisted, what steps are you currently taking to increase your chances, and for what school?

um....I am on the wl for Dartmouth and Columbia and have done nothing to really improve my chances b/c I kinda gave up on both....

columbia-sending my second semester grades...

3.94 taking organic chemistry2, genetics2, ethics, 21st century medicine, jazz combo, ballroom dancing PE requirement, and the lab portions of both sciences...

improvement upon 3.87 last semester with a similar schedule...hopefully something nice happens

Boy, you don't want to know. I'm one of about 10 people waitlisted for Yale. I got off the phone with the dean of NYU Stern today and she's writing me a recommendation. I'll probably get at least 2 more recommendations, but the killer is my sketch. I just got done sketching the Yale Sterling Memorial Library, brick for brick, after about 7 hours of work. Then I drew a little version of myself at the steps and a speech bubble saying, "I belong here in the fall!". I'm going to send it to the admissions officer, along with a letter stating why I really want to attend Yale, why I would be devoted to teh community, and what my summer plans are. And of course, a second semester transcript.

Does this sound like too much?

Dang they won't be able to forget you even if they want to. :) And that's good.

thats a good idea duobeef about the extra reccomendations-i don't even know who i could ask at this point :/

bumpbumpbump

Well, duobeef. I would bump you to the top of the WL. ;) Hope the adcom feels the same.
