I applied to Rice in high school and denied freshman admission. There were far too many factors that I realistically knew were not even on par with the rest of the applicants. For example, I had an average unweighted GPA of only 3.5 on a 4 pt scale. Most of the high school applicants that I have read in college related magazines and posts online are around 3.8 and above on a 4 pt scale. My SAT scores were pitiful at best with a 1120 (math and reading) and a 1720 with writing. I also had nothing special to present to them: I didn't play an instrument, wasn't in varsity athletics, didn't hold any notable leadership positions, other than joining a club, or anything else that would make me stand out of the crowd.

However, I have changed quite a bit since high school. I now have a 3.9 college GPA, currently a freshman though, retook my SAT and scored a 1510 =), and hold vice president position to a Hispanic organization.

I know these aren't drastic changes, more like subtle, but since I still really want to go to Rice, I was wondering whether y'all thought my admission chances would be enough this time around for transfer admission.

What do y'all think? Are there any other ways I could improve to better my chances?
