my gpa is 3.3 and sat is 1200. I did many extracurriculum activity. I am interested in computer science. and I want good college for that.
Probably SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo, and SUNY Stony Brook, but they might be reaches if your SAT is out of 2400 and not 1600.
what I should do than. any suggestion plaz…
Are you 1200/2400 or 1200/1600?
1200/2400
What’s your breakdown? Is English your second lnguage? TOEFL score?
I’d say Binghamton and Stony Brook are the best known SUNY schools for CS, but it shouldn’t really matter much which SUNY you get your undergraduate CS degree from.
I’ve worked with Binghamton and Albany grads out here in Silicon Valley. I lived in Kingston, NY for a few years and would expect New Paltz to have a good program, if only because IBM is nearby.
There’s nothing wrong with going to a community college first, and then transferring to a SUNY.
I agree that SUNY Binghamton and SUNY Stony Brook are probably the best options. But with your statistics, particularly the SAT (if it score is 1200/2400 as you indicated). they seem out of reach. I’d start researching some of the lower ranked SUNY schools or start at a CC and transfer to a SUNY school.
Try the ACT and see if you get a better score, then try and work on it. Lots of people do better on the ACT than the SAT and vice versa.
