After all your research in deciding to apply and finally to attend UF, what things surprised you about life at UF once you got there?

Amount of hot girls. Fraternity life. Easiness of classes. Amount of things to do. It’s like college Disney land

Your insane. ^

The classes are at the same level as FIU ( based on the graduate ECE courses).
There are too many parties going on throughout the semester.
There are lots of ** nice girls /b.
Seems overrated for what it is.

Seems like a lot of people at UF do easy majors…
I haven’t met any physics majors or math majors outside my grad EE classes yet.

Too many parties? Too many parties? How could there ever be too many parties> That’s a plus in my book.

A lot of UF alumni and students talk of just partying and having a wonderful social life and it’s amazing. But if you’re an engineering, medical, or law student, expect to have a huge focus on academics. Social life should be on the back of your mind. That’s not to say you won’t have a social life, you totally will, just not the party all the time type of life. Trying to go to every sporting event or do a bunch of clubs/organizations will definately be a challenge, let alone just hanging out with friends every day.

But hey, it all pays off in the end, right? The really cool thing is that EVERY term at UF is amazing. Fall is a little too crowded just overall, BUT football and homecoming make it amazing. Spring is chalk full of its own many events and Summer is preferably the best time to be on campus (in terms of just going about your normal routine and academics). Only about 20,000 students, maybe 25,000 students on campus…resources are more open, studying is easier, things are calmer, and the Summer events are pretty awesome themselves.

So many hot chicks here. It’s unbelievable lol. The difficulty of the classes you take depends on the classes you choose. If you’re some easy peezy PoliSci or Journalism major sure, everything will probably be easy. Engineering at UF is a completely different ball game and I’m sure there are other tough areas as well.
