"Our policy concerning transfer credit for high school students who are taking college-level courses while in high school is changing. We will no longer grant credit for college courses that also satisfy high school graduation requirements."

Does this include AP classes? Tell me it doesn't.

it probably includes AP classes but it says it wont use it for a class that also meets high school grad requirements. does that mean if you take an AP class but don't need it to graduate then they'll take the credits? O.o

Wait, never mind. I just figured something out. Once again, taken from their admissions site:

"NYU awards credit for the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) examinations for scores of 4 and 5 on most examinations."

"If you have completed college courses while in high school (either during the summer or during the school year), we generally grant credit if you received a grade of "B" or better in the courses, and if the courses are similar to courses offered at NYU (Exception: We do not grant credit for college courses that are also being used to satisfy high school graduation requirements)."

So I'm guessing they regard AP and college-level classes differently. Phew. Okay, tragedy gone.

Guys, they take IB and AP course credit still if you score amazingly.
They are just talking about dual credit courses; this means that if you take classes at a community college in order to satisfy your high school course requirements, the credit gained from these classes will not be transferred to NYU.

So if you take American Government for high school by taking a community college course, you cannot transfer that American Government credit to NYU.

Yup, which sucks for me because I could technically have a year of college done, as I will have that many college credits at the end of this year.
