I've gotten my fin aid from all my schools now. Caltech officially sucks, it's worse than every other school, including Duke, Cornell, UChicago, Carnegie Mellon, etc...

The best ones are from HYPSM, in that order.

My overall Fin aid package from Caltech was outstanding and worth
the long wait.

:) Thank you Don Crewell and Caltech! :)

It is much better than Stanford and better than Princeton;
MIT's package was outstanding as well.

Caltech and MIT were gentlemen. Menaing minimal or no hoops, clear
directions and respect for the individual.

With Stanford and Princeton, I had to negotiate to get them down to
where they are currently.

Hi Arwen, congrats! Glad to hear someone else had an experience as good as mine with Caltech finaid...it was starting to sound like Caltech had gotten a whole lot worse relative to its peers over the last four years :)

"HYPS's" financial aid packages must be pretty damned fantastic if everyone is complaining about Caltech. I'm graduating in May with no loans and less than $20k paid over the whole four years combined. How can you get much cheaper than that? I should have applied to "HYPS" - maybe they would have paid me to come!
