What the lowest GPA they typically accept?

I know that there are some colleges that don't have a standard GPA requirement. I'm curious about Princeton: Is having a 3.7-3.8/4.0 pretty good? I can assure you that I am not getting a 4.0 GPA for my cumulative high school GPA.

What kind of courses are you taking?

if you look on the princeton site, you’ll see a chart with the acceptance rate of applicants in different gpa ranges. there is still like a 5% acceptance rate among applicants with 3.5’s. i think it really comes down to which school you go to and how hard the classes are there. have students from your school got accepted in the past? if you go to a school with a poor history of sending kids to ivy leagues, then you probably really need to reach for that 4.0. If you come from a hypercompetitive school like Exeter, Andover or Harvard Westlake where 40+ kids are getting into ivies each yr then obviously you don’t need to have a 4.0 and be valedictorian of your class to get accepted. it’s all about the context of your achievements, which is a line you’ll hear repeatedly.
