<p>A report by members of the Combating Terrorism Commitee at USMA about terrorism and the jihadi movement in current politics. An interesting read.</p>

<p>The article mentioned the following salient features of counter-terorrism.</p>

<p>Drying up financial springs for terrorism
• Killing and imprisoning the jihadi leadership and lower-level cadres
• Creating multinational agreements for the extradition of terrorists
• Abolishing safe havens and shelters for terrorist organizations
• Moving from regional to international security cooperation

<p>In regards to overt military action, I.E. Iraq</p>

<p>If the jihadis are right in their assessment of geopolitics and the situation in
the Middle East, overt U.S. military action or diplomacy can often be more
harmful than helpful in the fight against jihadi-inspired terrorism
