What time do you tend to get up in the morning?

And would you say you have enough time to get ready & eat a healthy breakfast? I'm worried about college next semester as I struggle to drag myself out of bed at 6:30am.

I wake up 8:30 AM 3 times a week for 9:30 classes, and 9 AM the 2 other days of the week for 10 AM classes. The commute from my dorm to class is like 10 minutes but I speed walk, otherwise maybe 15 minutes. Yea I think there is enough time to eat a healthy breakfast. High school was much earlier for me, I had to wake up between 6:30 AM to 7:00 AM everyday and I got home around the evening 6 PM so it was definitely much more tiring back then.

@galtnot It really depends on when you have your classes. If I have an 830 class I get up at 715. If I have an 11am class I get up at 9-930 depending on if I need the extra sleep or not.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I get up at 6:50 AM to catch the 7:08 university-run bus so I can make it to my 7:30 class on time. On MWF, I get up at 8:45-9am for a 10am class.

5:30AM so I can catch up on homework/reading, shower, and get some coffee. I have work at 7:30 and a mostly full day after that, so I don’t have much time to goof off.

@sopranokitty, just wondering how do you get dressed so quickly? I’m assuming your’e a girl because your name is “sopranokitty” lol. It takes me at least 30 minutes to get myself together.

^I’m a girl and it only takes me ten minutes to get ready in the morning, if I take my time. Five if I’m rushing. It really just depends on what you do.

I’m up at 8:55, out the door by 9:10 for my 10:00 class (commuter).
The wonders of not needing make up.

@baktrax OMG. I always thought you were a guy!

@smurray09 you learn something new everyday =D

@baktrax: You’re a girl? That explain why you’re so knowledgeable. :)>-

Topic:
Anyway I been having 7:30 classes for 3 weeks now. It’s a bit tricky to get into.

The first day my classes was only at 8:30 but I got up around 6:00am anyway but I wasn’t tired at all. I was ready and prepared. That was the only day I got breakfast (around 7:00am). I’m trying to get into that habit but only two monday had past lol.

The rest of the week are constant 7:30 of course. I still got up the same time. But it’s mighty tricky. This week I had a hard time getting up because I had a hard time falling asleep. Like this Tuesday/Wednesday I slept a little past 1 am and woke up around 6:00 as planned BUT I fell back to sleep and missed the first class of the day and I had to rush a little to prepare for the next class. I kinda just now did the exact same thing and I only had like 13 minutes to get to class. Deperate time called for desperate measure. I had no choice but to put on deodorant and clothes that I already wore (They’re not honestly dirty, I believe most clothes last at least 2 days under 70 degrees non humid/rain.— I put clean undies on though) Amazing my hair and body odor isn’t too bad today so I’m graceful. I can imagine ladies having a little bit more of a time though. I should’ve done this for Wednesday but I guess I was a bit too tired.

But now I can understand what these early morning folks students/workers/parents/profs have to deal with. Quite personally I like it this way. Having mainly morning classes and being free for most of the afternoon and evening. It just a bit relaxing but simply hard to get to where you’re getting but once you get there your mind adapt quickly and you’re ready for the day.
It probably help that I can literally run all day on 4 hours of sleep. It’s probably not healthy but come on I’m pretty sure doing all this crazy studying and eating is a bit non-healthy too lmao. I’m personally a night owl. I like staying up. But I don’t hate waking up early in the morning so I’m good. It’s a matter of finding that balance of getting 6-8 hours of sleep.

If I have enough time, as a guy, it would take me around 20 minutes top to get fully ready. 10-15 if no one is in the shower and I got enough sleep energy. After all we don’t seriously need 20 minutes of showering. That can wait for weekend or something. But yea my plan is to get done with homework a bit earlier (that’s kinda what is due at midnight online -_-) and sleep earlier. I could never do homework in the morning unless it’s literally due. But I can spend the weekend getting stuff done early.

Well, I have class at 9:15 AM on MWF and TUTH at 10:00 AM. I get up at 6:30, turn my alarms off until around 7:30, realize I’m being really lazy, rush to do everything, do my 10-15 minute commute, and park in the student lot where I know that the first 5 columns of parking spots are taken and pick a spot in the sixth. If I arrive earlier, I get better choices of that specific parking lot. I get a Venti Caffe Mocha, stand around, pretend to study, go to class and hangout with my friend or go home immediately after or if it’s Tuesday or Thursday, I have my classes back to back until 5 PM.

I work at 8 am MWF and have class at 1 pm T/Th.

I get up at 6 MWF to take a shower, get ready, organize my stuff for the day, etc., and then I head to the cafe around 7. I’m one who eats slowly and browses online or reads, so I spend a good 40 minutes lounging in the cafe.

On T/Th, I get up whenever. I usually get up between 8 and 9. I’ll then do homework and stuff until it’s time to get ready and go to class.

In sum, I actually prefer getting up early because then I feel I can make more of my day. On T/Th, it’s so easy to sleep in inland waste time.

Currently waking up at 7:00am MWF for an 8:45 class, and around 8:30 on Tues and Thurs. Weekends, even if I don’t go out, I probably won’t wake up until 11am. Say Rah! Say Ruul! EEEEEE OHHHHH

baktrax is a GIRL??! :-O

I am terribly sorry, but I do not believe that anyone can honestly get ready in ten minutes. Or at least my definition of get ready: get dressed, brush teeth, wash face, and fix their hair. (And if you add a shower in that I call BS).

Nope. Don’t believe for one bit.

I wake up an hour and a half before my classes.

I wake up at around 8:30 for my 9:30 classes. I get dressed, brush my teeth and hair as well as put on a little make up. I’ll make oatmeal in a throw away cup and put coffee in my travel mug and on the 9am bus I go.

Plenty of people shower at night. I can get ready in seven minutes or less if I just bush my hair/ teeth, put on some standard clothes, and get my backpack which already has most of the necessary books.

I shower at night and EASY can get out the door in 10 minutes. Use the bathroom, brush teeth, change clothes, make sure hair isn’t too frizzy, grab some water and Pop-Tarts and hurry out the door. It can be a bit of a rush if I don’t have my things in my bag from the night before but it can be done. I don’t use makeup so that’s not a problem. If it’s an early class, who cares what I look like? As long as I’m presentable, it doesn’t mattaaa.

I live a bit off campus so I have to leave earlier to catch the bus and avoid taking the crazy packed bus with the rest of the residents here. This sucks but I have to just deal with it and adjust my schedule.

I have class at 7:35 am M/W right now and this is subject to change because I’m not an early riser at all. I tend to stay up really late for no reason then wake up around noon or even later if I can. I’ll probably wake up at 6:40 to catch the 7:04 bus to campus. Tu/Th I have class at 2 pm so I can sleep until whenever. I’m nervous that I’ll sleep the day away, which I always do with later classes. Or, if I know I have class or something to do at a certain time, I won’t do anything else because I’m just anxious for class to start. So I’ll browse the web or watch TV until class then I don’t get out til late and don’t feel like doing anything else.

Hopefully this semester I have a somewhat ‘normal’ sleep schedule so those Tu/Th I’ll be able to get up and do something of importance! Friday, I only have class at 905 am but I never went to my 905 am class last semester, especially on a Friday, so let’s see how that works out.

I get up at 9 on M/W but don’t have class till 12:45, so I head to the studio or work on homework before hand.

I get up at 8 on T/R for 9am class

I usually shower at night, or in the middle of the day when I have time - rarely before class (except sometimes my 1245 class) I hate going places with wet hair, and doing it otherwise takes a short millennium

@Niquii77 That’s pretty much what I do, minus the shower (no way am I ever going to get up early enough to take a shower in the morning). But “fix my hair” is just brush it. I don’t do anything fancy.

To be honest, unless you take a shower in the morning and/or eat breakfast in the morning, I don’t understand how it can take anyone MORE than ten minutes in the morning. Unless you have to put on mountains of make up or straighten/curl your hair.

Maybe it’s just because I’m not a morning person at all, so I’ve got my routine honed for speed because it takes me forever to get out of bed in the morning.
