Vanderbilt University says their CSS Profile due date is February first.

Does this mean that it has to be turned in by, as in before, Februrary first?
And, if not, what time that day does it have to be turned in by?

Please answer this quick. I wouldn't want to miss the deadline by a couple of hours, but my mom keeps insisting that her procrastination will be okay if it's turned in on that day.....

If it says February 1st, then I think you can assume it means February 1st. February 1st lasts until 11:59 pm on February 1st.

Then you get into the subtle questions of 11:59 pm in which time zone? Yours or theirs? (I say, go with theirs.)

However, it’s good not to wait until the very last minute. I mean, what if you hit a server problem because so many procrastinators have put it off to the last minute and the site is swamped? This actually does happen sometimes just before very common deadlines… and Feb. 1st is one of them.

So get it in today if you can, or tomorrow if that’s the soonest you can… but don’t wait until 11:59 pm. ;)

When I got confirmation that the CSS was submitted it showed what dates the colleges would receive them (based on how the colleges wanted to retrieve them) and I was concerned because of course the one 2/1 school on the list had the latest download date but it says that if it is submitted (my part done) by the due date, it is considered on time. I would recommend to do it sooner rather than later given the site will very likely be busy and/or have issues tomorrow!

Edit: Also, my mom has school work and housework that’s kept her busy.
And the CSS asks like a million questions… either way, I wish she’d do it today. I even JUST told her that there might be server/computer problems if we do it tomorrow. She said she’ll try to finish it, but no guarantees @_@

Well, it is TOTALLY silly to put housework ahead of this. I mean, if someone is doing that then they are SERIOUSLY just looking for any reason not to do it!

It will cost her, and you, hugely to not do it on time. Tomorrow will be okay, just don’t wait until late in the day to start. It can be a bit time-consuming. (I mean, it depends on your family’s financial circumstances. It’s not that difficult for me to do because most of the questions just have “0” on our Profile application.)
