What to ask an admissions officer?

An admissions officer from Notre Dame, my dream school, is coming to my high school tomorrow. I pretty much know everything I need to about the school, but I want to ask the officer SOMETHING... I just don't know what.

What are some interesting questions to ask admission officers?

For what purpose? He / she won’t care nor remember you. You have nothing to learn. Let it go.

Ask him about HIS impressions of the school - what he likes best, what’s his favorite part of working there, what impresses him most about the students . . . pick one! Or, alternatively, if he could change one thing about the school, what would it be? His personal impressions of the school are something you won’t find on the internet.

I disagree with T26E4. I think that you should express your interest to them and maybe think of some questions regarding your fit there and such stuff. Just random things to get you in their mind, since some schools take communication and such into account.

prettykitty; some admissions officers do – I agree with you.

Not one from Notre Dame, speaking to a room of 100 kids on his way to another school with a hundred kids.

I have to agree with that^

I would suggest that the adcom might remember OP if he asks an inappropriate question - the kind of impression that he does not want to make. There are amusing threads covering the embarrassing things people have said and done during admissions visits that certainly created strong memories.

Generally however, I would agree with T26E4 that it is impossible to make a lasting, positive impression in a setting like this. It would be better to keep your mouth shut if you don’t have any questions.
